Blueberry Green Tea Wellness Optimizer

I love to eat/drink what is healthy and delicious. I’ve taken the green tea blueberry infusion recipe from Dr. Weil’s new book, “Fast Food. Good Food,” made it easier, and even more delicious. Why do I think everyone should drink this every day?

1. Blueberries are a source of anthocyanin pigments (a type of flavonoid) resulting in amazing anti-inflammatory properties. If you didn’t know, most of the preventable diseases we’re seeing in our friends and loved ones are due to inflammation. Eating fruits and vegetables decreasing your risk for these diseases.

2. Green tea and blueberries are high in antioxidants which means just eating them helps protects our cells and potentially decreasing our risk for future disease. BTW: lemons will increase the antioxidant properties of the green tea. Bonus!
3. It’s low in calories and delicious.

Without further ado, here’s the antioxidant packed Blueberry Green Tea Wellness Optimizer.
1 Green Tea Bag
½ lemon juiced
½ cup blueberries
1 lemon slice
Directions: Microwave a cup of water for 2 minutes. Steep the green tea 5-10 minutes. Remove the bag. Add to blender: green tea, ½ lemon juiced, ½ cup of blueberries and honey to taste. Mix a few seconds. You can strain the blueberries from the drink if desired. I don’t because I want all of the benefit from eating all the blueberries. Pour into a glass and add ice. Enjoy your wellness optimizer!
